Another Fair has ended, and the Fair Board is already talking about our 2012 Fair! If you didn’t know, our Board works year-round to make each Fair a success. 2011 proved to be a challenging Fair for all. The weather was very hard on everyone - animal and human! I want to commend all of our 4Hers and their parents for the care shown for the animals. Each animal had lots of people keeping a close eye on them and helping out when needed. This makes a great and successful Fair!
Another factor I want to touch on is our Sponsors. The County and public really stepped up to help out in all aspects of the Fair. We have great partnerships with our Sponsors, and that shows with the contributions we received from businesses and individuals. We can’t say thank you enough to our Sponsor of the Day, sponsors of a barn and even the sponsors of our special events. Again, a big thank you to all of our sponsors!
To end this quick note from myself, I would like to thank everyone who gave a little extra time, extra muscle, and extra effort to help keep our Fair one of the best in Indiana. We all worked together and overcame every obstacle put before us. For that I personally am grateful. One thing I ask from everyone…If you were lucky enough to win in a project, please send a thank you to your plaque sponsors. If you know someone or a business that helped sponsor an event or building, just mention that you knew they had helped and thank them.
Good luck to those going to State Fair and I hope everyone has a great school year!
The 2011 4-H Fair is over, but the 4-H Fairgrounds is still open for events year-round.

Powwow has been held every three years since 1969, with dances taking place all over the country including Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kansas. The National Powwow community exists to respectfully share in the values of American Indian culture and strives to increase awareness of American Indian culture and traditions among the non-Indian community with the support and guidance of Indian people. We are fortunate to have established relationships with exceptional singers, dancers, craftsmen and historians from all over the US and internationally, and we rely on the combined knowledge and experience of our community to promote education regarding American Indian culture. We are proud to enter our forty second year of National Powwow and invite you to join our celebration to be held July 6-9, 2011 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville, Indiana.2011 Hendricks County Fair opening concert featuring Mark Lowry tickets are now available online.
Join in the fun on July 16th for a great concert to kick off the 2011 County Fair.
Welcome to the Hendricks County 4-H and Agricultural Fair and Conference Complex Website! At this time, the entire 2011 4-H Fair Board and staff would like to encourage you to visit our site and take a look at the 2011 upcoming Fair schedule and coming events.
This year’s Fair theme is…The Race Is On! Along with that we hope you will race over to our Fairgrounds and see what all Hendricks County has to offer you and your family.
Mark Lowry, a Christian based performer, will be headlining our Pre-Fair entertainment on Saturday, July 16th. Ticket information is available on this site. Keeping with the racing theme, Swifty Swine is a new addition to our Fair schedule and we really think it will be a hit with everyone. I won’t go into details, but hopefully this tease will get everyone’s interest to take in a race or two during the week of the Fair.
And don’t forget to check out all of the 4-H projects and shows. These kids and their animals have been working hard all year to win the judge’s eye. So, please make it a priority to stop by the barns, our NSSB Show Arena and the 4-H project area in the Auditorium in the Conference Center.
Entertainment, racing, food and 4-H! Hopefully we have covered something for everyone.
