Plan Early, Save Money at This Year’s 4-H Fair

Don’t wait to get to this year’s Hendricks County 4-H Fair (July 16-22) to notice the entry- fee pricing has changed. In years past the fee was per car, but this year it is per person. Steve Patterson, the fair’s Executive Director, stated that the reasons for the change “...is to continue to provide free entertainment within the fair itself. We have a Family Day to kick off the fair, wolf show, an escape artist, trapeze artist, and more that will not cost fair- goers additional money. Free grandstand entertainment this year will include Antique Tractor Pull and Kart Races with celebrity drivers. Musical entertainment will be scheduled each evening on the State Bank of Lizton Free Stage. The organization is mindful and working hard to keep the price low and affordable for the families to attend the traditional 4-H Fair."

Hendricks County 4-H Fairboard President David Mood stated “We will be sure that the 4-H families, exhibitors, and volunteers will have access to the 4-H Fair as in previous years with admission tickets.” New this year will be amusement rides provided by Drew Exposition from Augusta, Georgia. Following the previous two years' tradition, Hendricks Power will host its meeting on Thursday, July 20, providing its customers with $10 worth of fair bucks which they may spend on food at various food-vendors' booths.

Starting June 1, you can purchase day passes for $3.00 at the 4-H Fair office: 1900 E. Main Danville, IN 46122. Children 7 and under will be admitted FREE. Day passes are good for any day of the fair. For example, if you were planning on attending Monday but something comes up, you can use the pass for another 4-H Fair day in 2017.

On July1 the price increases to $4.00. Tickets will be available at 4-H Fair Partners (NSSB, Hendricks County Bank & Trust, First National Bank (Belleville Branch), and Hendricks Regional Health’s Gift Shop through Friday, July 21. 4-H Fair attendees will need to pay $5.00 at the gate during the 4-H Fair operation.

There will be NO charge for parking... Parking is Free.
